The Chassis
The design for the Joyrider is significantly different than the KR3 with a new trailing rear arm system New improved driver roll bars, New Top front suspension unit and side nerf bars.

The Joyrider chassis has now NEW styling including integrated driver and passenger protection approved by the SVA & NEW IVA standards.
The roll cage is made from 1.1/4" CDS Tube, with different tube specifications available.
The Joyrider uses a floor mounted pedal box which can be adapted to suit any engine via hydraulic or cable clutch.
The floor is made from aluminium checker plate and is bent up at the sides for extra strength
Engine options
The Joyrider offers more engine options than before due to the larger engine bay and new suspension layout. We recommend up to Two Litre engine, petrol or diesel. We have also had bike engines fitted, but we recommend car engines for more torque.

Engine Fitting
Blitzworld can factory fit your engine during manufacture of the buggy frame. Simply send your engine and gearbox to us and we will fit it into the buggy chassis, (see options at bottom of the page). If you have cutting and welding equipment you can fit your own engine, and we will give you the necessary guidance to fit the engine.
Drive shafts
Due to the amount of configurations of engines and axel spacing we modify the drive shafts to suit the buggy. This is done by a third party company who specialises in this type of work, see options below.
Putting the Joyrider on the road
If you want to put your buggy on the road you will have to take the buggy to a local SVA / IVA centre, where you will be issued with the relevant documentation to put the buggy on the road and obtain a new number plate and chassis number. Blitzworld are now offering a in-house SVA / IVA service where we can do all the necessary paper work and get your buggy through the SVA (see work shop service section for details).

Stuntworld tyring out the Joyrider
IVA (vehicle approval) Test costs about £500, then NO MOT for 3 years

Building the Joyrider - What's Required
Using a Fiat engine (900 or 1100cc)
To build the Joyrider buggy for ON or OFF road use, (using the Fiat Seicento or Cinquecento) you will need the following items listed below. If you are NOT using the fiat engine, you will still require most of the donor car parts, but instead of the Fiat engine and gearbox & wiring loom & ECU, etc you will require additional parts listed below:
| Qty | Additional Items required if NOT using Fiat |
| 1 | Engine & Gearbox |
| 1 | Gearbox drive shafts |
| 1 | Engine wiring loom & ECU |
| 1 | Fuel Pump |
| 1 | Radiator |
To build the Joyrider buggy it is advisable to buy a complete donor Fiat Cinquecento or the later Seicento with a V5 vehicle registration document (V5 only required if putting the buggy on the road).
The engine sizes for the Fiat are 900cc or 1100cc. Prices for a good second hand start from about £150. Alternatively you can buy all the parts already stripped from the donor car in one of Blitzworlds donor car kits, (see options available at the bottom of the page).

| 4 | Suspension units complete |
| 2 | Rear Trailing Arm complete with bearings & hub |
| 1 | Aluminium checker plate floor |
| 2 | Linkage Cables |
| 1 | Gearlever assembly support |
| 1 | Pedal Box complete |
| 1 | Rear disc brake calliper with Handbrake |
| 1 | Petrol Tank (custom made) |
| 1 | Digital programmable waterproof Dashpod |
| 1 | Switches & Controls |
| 1 | Lights kit (road legal) |
| 4 | Plastic Mudguards |
| 2 | Bucket Seats |
| 2 | Four strap 2" Seatbelts |
Suspension - The existing suspension is too bulky, too hard, not adjustable and very little travel for off road use. We have designed our own front Mc Pherson struts which are compact with adjustable 2.1/4" spring. The struts have a top integral roller bearing to give a very tight turning circle. On the rear we have used a coil over strut & Spring which can be easily adjusted for different engine weights and road conditions.
Rear Trailing Arm - The fiat was fitted with a rear beam suspension which does not allow independent suspension on the rear of the buggy. We have designed and made our own independent trailing arm units to suit virtually all engine combinations available.
Rear disc brake calliper with Handbrake - The rear drum brake on the existing Fiat is not used, as it can clog with mud off road. For the rear braking there are two options:
Off road only
For off road only use we use another fiat front calliper on the rear with a hydraulic handbrake connected via the floor mounted pedal box. This gives a split circuit braking for safety and a very strong handbrake hold of the buggy.[/bullet]
Road & Off roadFor more road orientated driving we use a combined disc and mechanical handbrake assembly (SVA / IVA approved) which will fit only 13" or bigger wheels, and NOT the 12" ATV wheels and tyres. Mud and snow tyres can be fitted to the larger rims, but ATV tyres only go up to 12" wheels.[/bullet]
Petrol Tank - The existing tank is too big and bulky for the chassis layout. A smaller custom made tank can be fitted at the front or rear of the buggy. (rear recommended for safety).
Dashpod - This is NOT waterproof, The existing Speedo cable is too short, and it cannot be easily recalibrated when different size wheels are used. We use a bike type electronic dash which is easily recalibrated and is waterproof with most of the switches included.
Switches and controls - The column switches (indicator / lights) are not waterproof on the Fiat and thus can fail when wet. We have replaced the column switch with a simple waterproof switch for indicators and lights are on a button on the dash panel. We offer a complete wiring loom service which includes all the switches required, see build kit options below.
Pedal Box - The Fiat pedal box is servo assisted and works well on the existing fiat which has 2 disc brakes at the front and a drum at the rear. The Joyrider has disc brakes all round and thus a floor mounted pedal box gives better braking from a twin cylinder assembly. It will also adapt to any gearbox being cable or cylinder operated.
Linkage Cables - The existing cables are too short to reach from the rear of the buggy to the front of the buggy. We have made new heavy duty cables which will take punishment from On and off road use.
Gearlever assembly - The Fiat gearlever unit can be used in the Joyrider but is subject to be filled with Mud on off road use. We have redesigned the housing and fitted the unit above the floor to prevent clogging of the mechanism from mud. (see the Joyrider accessories)
Lights - The existing fiat lights only fit the fiat bodywork and do not adapt easily to the buggy chassis. We have utilised lightweight waterproof lights and fittings to suit on and off road driving.
Mudguards - The fiat is fitted with inner mud protectors behind the front wings, we have replaced these with slim plastic standard mudguards.
Seats - The cloth seats have being replaced with vinyl easy to clean bucket seats.
Seatbelts - We replace the standard cross strap belts with a full 4 strap harness.

Frequently asked questions
Is the price shown at the top of the webpage the complete price of the buggy?
No, the price at the top of the website page is for the chassis only.
Can I buy the buggy already built and read for the road ?
Yes, Blitzworld are currently building Joyrider buggies to order with all types of engines from 900cc to 2000cc.
Can you fit a bike engine ?
Yes, due to the configuration of the chassis it lends its self well to take any engine including a motor bike engine.
Is the Joyrider buggy road legal ?
Yes the Joyrider is road legal, but you have to hold a current car driving licence to drive it on the public highways including motorways.
Do I have to buy a donor car?
No We have put a list of suppliers on the website where you can find a donor car from as little as £150. (click on the donor cars link on the left hand menu for a list).
Do you have to have a licence to drive the buggy off road?
No, for off road use you do not have to have a licence. If you want to drive on green lanes around the country you do have to have a licence and the buggy needs to be road legal.
How safe is the buggy on & off road ?
Due to the wide selection of engines available for the buggy we have made the Joyrider from CDS tube making the chassis roll cage very strong. The buggy design offers the driver and passenger a complete roll cage with a front and rear crumple zones. Also driver air bag options are available.
Does the buggy have to go through SVA / IVA ?
Yes, the buggy has to go through the government approved SVA (single vehicle approval) New test IVA, testing which affects most kit cars on the road today. The test costs about £450 and once passed the vehicle does not require a MOT for 3 years.
Can I build some of the buggy myself and Blitzworld to complete the build ?
Yes, you can take the build to any stage and we can complete the remainder of the buggy build to Off or road legal status if as required, helping to keep costs to a minimum.
Do you have to put the buggy on a trailer to take it to a track day?
No, due to the light weight of the buggy, we can supply a tow hitch that bolts under the front of the buggy lifting the front wheels off the ground, and then the buggy can be towed like a trailer. If you register your buggy as road legal you can then drive the buggy to and from the track day events.

How to order
The price at the top of the website page is for the standard CDS steel chassis only. All the parts for the Joyrider can be purchased separately spreading the cost of building. You can click onto the separate items and the website will open up individual pages on that item that then can be purchased individually.
Option (1) - [Chassis]
Please select Off road or Road legal chassis. The road legal chassis comes with front and rear bumpers fitted for SVA / IVA requirements
Option (2) - [Build Kit]
Please select the build kit which most suits your build requirements. All the parts are also available separately on the accessories section of the website.
Option (3) - [Engine]
This option allows you to have your engine factory fitted by Blitzworld or you can fit the engine yourself.
Option (4) - [Fitting]
Due to the combinations of engines available to the Joyrider, each buggy has a different radiator, expansion bottle and possibly tank and position. You can select self fit, or factory fit of these components. It is relativley easy to fit these components by means of making some simple brackets and bolting them to the frame. Blitzworld offer a fitting service where we will fit the petrol tank (if selected in kit), your expansion bottle and the radiator.
Option (5) - [Drive shafts]
Due to the engine configurations available for the Joyrider we modify the drive shafts to suit the axel spacing of the buggy. The outer drive Fiat shafts are supplied with this service.
Option (6) - [Donor Car Kit]
Blitzworld are now offering a donor car pack including all the major donor parts required to build the Joyrider, thus saving you the need of buying and stripping a donor car for parts.
