Step 2 - Engine & Fitting

The Joyrider is designed to take virtually any engine, including bike, car and even diesel. You can simply send Blitzworld your engine or complete car and we will strip the car and fit the engine into the Joyrider Frame, making the the necessary mounts. Alternativly we can offer a 2nd hand complete Saxo VTS engine with Box, engine wiring loom and ECU.

Recomended Car engines
From our experience with fitting many different engines, we find the lighter engines tend to be better. Weight is critical to a the buggy, as the heavier the engine the more the buggy will sink into the mud, thus we offer two standard engines options for the buggy:

1.2 Fiat Punto engine (60 bhp)
1.6 Citrone Saxo VTS (120 bhp)

The engines are supplied (used engines) cleaned with the timing belts replaced, oil & filter changed and new spark plugs (we cannot offer warranty on 2nd hand engines).

Bike engines
Bike engines can also be used, but to get the high TORQUE required you need a high end bike engine like a R1 and a Fireblade, to give the buggy the torque power required to climb hills. Also reverse and diferential gearboxes are also available, but can be very expensive.


Fitting your engine

The price above includes fitting the engine only. The options below include custom made drive shafts and a aluminium radiator and expansion bottle to suit the engine.
